November 2023

Dear DOZ friends,

It has been awhile since my last newsletter, and I pray that you are well and enjoying the goodness of the Lord.

As I reflect over the challenging events in our World and even in our personal lives, I am reminded the Word of God prewarned us about these times that we are now facing. These difficult and challenging times will bring us to that place where we depend solely on our Heavenly Father to help us get through and enjoy our journey. I love the scripture that says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.” (PS 46:1). I have personally reminded myself of this scripture, to get through even daily challenges. God is SO Faithful to always be there for us!

I recalled a time when I had to make a small road trip of 120 miles. On my return trip home, I encountered a very severe storm. It went from clear skies to black dark clouds and heavy rain like I had never experienced. It was a two-lane highway and not the best road conditions. The rain was coming down so hard that I could barely see the road in front of me. I was inching my way down the highway trying to see the line on the road and only able to see just in front of my headlights. Needless to say, I was talking to the Lord! What do I do? Should I pull off and wait for the storm to pass or should I keep going, creeping along? If I pull off, a car could miss seeing me and hit me. Crying out to God, I heard…Keep Going! It was several miles of this intense rainstorm and then, suddenly, I drove out of the storm!!! All of a sudden clear blue skies, no rain, not a cloud in the sky and perfectly calm beautiful weather!! Shocked and totally surprised, I could not believe what I had just experienced. Then the Lord began to speak to me. Our lives are like that. When the storms of life come, we have a choice. We can stop in the midst of our storm, trying to work things out in our own strength and ability, focusing on the problem instead of the problem solver. We can also choose to keep going inch by inch, day by day, trusting the Lord for each day. When all of a sudden one day, we look up and we have made it through. That storm has passed and it's smooth sailing ahead. We now have a testimony to help others that are going through the storms of life. We can have empathy for them because we have been there! So, whatever your storm is right now, don't give up! Keep moving forward and trust your Heavenly Father for He will guide you and get you through to the other side!

God truly is your ever-present help in time of trouble and He cares about every little thing that pertains to your life. He loves you SO much and you are never alone!

I pray God pours out His richest blessings over you and that you will enjoy the journey He has set before you.

I love you,
Charlotte

This is a new children's ministry in Siguatepeque. However, they are meeting under a tree by a mud puddle! I am believing in God to help us build them a small building for their weekly meetings.

Bienvenidos La Lglesia Puente de Vida (Welcome The Bridge of Life Church)

The people at the top of the mountain in Comayagua built this little church so they would have a place to go and worship the Lord! It is a very poor community and they gave out of their own need, sacrificing to build it. They gave their best! I know this must bless the Father's heart to see such great love for Him! When I see this little church, it brings me to tears, knowing that they have so little but yet, they gave so much! I look forward to going there and worshiping our precious Lord with them!

January Newsletter 2023

Hello DOZ friends and Happy New Year,

I pray that this newsletter finds you well and anticipating all the wonderful things that God has in store for us in 2023. As for me, I am very excited to see 2022 ending and 2023 beginning! This past year was somewhat of a challenging year for some of us,but it was also a time when we were able to witness God’s faithfulness to look over His Word to perform it for us.

As we enter this new season, I was reminded of familiar passages where the Lord said, “Get Up!” (Acts 26:16, Mark 5:41, Matthew 17:7, Mark 3:3) Just to name a few! Several times over the years the Lord has spoken the same words to me and always in a time when I was going through serious health problems. Times when my body was weak, in pain and I felt unable to move and wondering if this was perhaps the time I was going home to be with Jesus. Then, I would hear that still small voice say to me, “Get Up!” I knew that voice, it was Jesus! Being the hardest thing I had ever done, and with others telling me I couldn’t get up, I somehow found the strength to “Get Up”! I would make my body move, and as I did, I would begin to praise the Lord. Was it hard? Absolutely! But as I did, suddenly my body began to get better and symptoms began to leave and strength returned to my body. After a short time, my health was restored to the point where doctors were amazed and had no medical explanation. Only Jesus!! Praise the Lord!!

Now, let me ask you a question. What if I hadn’t been obedient to “Get Up”? Honestly, I might not be here today writing this newsletter. So, what am I saying? Sometimes when hard times come, and the Word tells us they will come (John 16:33) we just have to make a quality decision to “Get Up”. No matter how hard it is or how much it hurts, we must trust the Lord and be obedient and “Get Up.” I have personally witnessed that this act of obedience is the very thing that will save you from whatever you are going through. God is faithful and as you “Get Up” He has promised to look over His Word to perform it for you. So, I am in complete agreement with you that whatever you’re going through, when you “Get Up”, God will take care of it for you! I am standing with you.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for supporting Daughters of Zion Ministries. Because of you we have been able to reach souls for the Kingdom, feed the hungry, take care of the widows and orphans, send underprivileged kids to school and so much more. Jesus said, “When you have done it to the least of these, you have done it unto Me.” Matthew 25:45

I love you and I pray God’s richest blessings over you!,

These are pictures from our latest mission trip to Honduras. We did women, children’s and dental ministry as well as visiting our sweet elderly people in the mountains. We also did an outreach in the Comayagua city square.

July Newsletter 2021

Greetings DOZ friends!

I pray that this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the wonderful benefits of the Lord. Since my last newsletter, we have had a break in covid and the restrictions on wearing a mask. Praise the Lord! Certainly the last couple of years have been extremely challenging and a time to exercise our walk of faith. Many suffered from the covid virus, and some have lost precious loved ones. Through it all, God has shown Himself to be faithful and has helped us walk through these difficult times. I pray that you will continue to walk in health. Also, know that your loved ones that have gone on, are waiting for you just on the other side.

As I am writing this newsletter, I am reminded of an old western movie that I was recently watching. (Yes, I like old westerns) In this movie I saw a sign on the jail that said “Wanted: Dead or Alive.” In many western movies you will see this sign and it usually references an alleged gun-slinging cowboy, bank robber or cattle thief. Often a sheriff’s posse is rounded up to hunt down the outlaw. If the character is already dead before the posse arrives, the posse moves on. As I thought about this, the Lord showed me that it is much like us. In our big life show today, we can consider ourselves dead to sin in our mortal bodies because we have received Christ. The enemy may be in charge of the posse coming at us, but greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. He may be coming at us hot and heavy trying to bring us down, but when he finds that our old man is dead because our new man is alive in Christ, he will move on to someone who is still on the run. Romans 6:11 “In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” I am so thankful to know that no matter what we go through, as a child of God we never go through it alone because God has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Just remember, child of God, He will always make a way of escape for you. He is the Way Maker!

I want to personally thank you for donating so generously to the ministry. It is because of loving people like you that we are able to do all that God has called us to do. Many lives are being affected every day because of your love for those less fortunate. I know that one day you will hear the Father say, ”Well done good and faithful servant, enter your rest.”

Praying God’s richest blessings over you!
I love you,
Charlotte

These are our Honduras kids being fed, physically and spiritually. They are being taught the Word of God and over the years, hundreds have come to know the Lord as their personal saviour. They are no longer walking in darkness. with no hope and in despair. Now they know that Jesus is their hope and their lives will never be the same. Thank you for helping us to share the love of Jesus with them!

“When you have done it to the least of these, You have done it unto Me.” Matthew 25:40

February Newsletter 2021

Greetings in the Name of Jesus,

I hope this newsletter finds you all well and enjoying the wonderful benefits of the Lord. As we enter into a new and challenging time for our country and with all the recent changes in our government, it has brought me to my knees seeking answers and direction for the days ahead. God has been faithful to speak to my spirit through His Word. I heard the Lord say, ”I have always had a Remnant.” My intelligent reply was, “What does that mean, Lord?”

As I began to research and study this deeper, He took me to 1 Kings 19. Here we see the prophet Elijah displaying the same human characteristics that we display; fear, discouragement, depression and hopelessness. Paraphrasing: Jezebel was after Elijah hoping to kill him and Elijah was fearful and fleeing for his life. While he was fleeing possible death, he should have stopped and ran straight to the Lord. Haven’t we all done this same thing at various times in our life? He was so depressed that he prayed for God to kill him, but God had another plan for his life. Elijah said, “The enemy has killed all of your prophets and I am the only prophet left.” 1 Kings 19:14 Have there been times in your life when you have felt so alone, no one understood what you were going through and you wondered where God was in your situation? Well, child of God, He was there just as He was with Elijah. God’s response to Elijah was you’re not the only one, I have a Remnant! God has always had a Remnant! We are not alone, there is a multitude or a Remnant that God has called for such a time as this.

Maybe today you feel discouraged by the turn of events in our world. But, child of God, be encouraged! God has a mighty Remnant that He is raising up to usher in the next mighty move of God. I believe that we are entering the last days and we will see multitudes come to know the Lord. (Acts 2:17) We get to be a part of it. Praise the Lord! It is time to shake off fear of the “what ifs” and remember God’s promises to His children, “I will never leave you nor forsake you. I am your ever present help in time of trouble.” He has a plan and He is working all things for our good. Can I get an Amen? So be encouraged! Greater things are yet to come!

I just want to say thank you for your continued support to DOZ! Because of your faithfulness, we did not cut back on the feeding program to our kids in Honduras or any other mission programs. You are such a blessing and we love and appreciate you so much.
Serving Him Joyfully,
Charlotte
