October Newsletter 2020

Greetings DOZ friends,

It has been a few months since our last newsletter so I wanted to write and share what the Lord has put on my heart and I pray that it will encourage you during these very challenging days. If you are like me, I am weary of the pandemic and the effects that it is having on our every day lives. I am tired of wearing masks and being bombarded with all the fear tactics that are coming at us. As I was praying about this, actually whining to the Lord, He began to speak to me from His Word. “These little troubles are getting you ready for an eternal glory that will make all of our troubles seem like nothing.” (2 Cor. 4:17) As I thought about this, it came to me that God uses everything, even a pandemic to help grow our character. He uses problems to help us mature. James writes it like this, “My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won’t need anything.” (James 1:2-4) You may feel tired and depleted right now because of how Covid-19 is affecting your life and the lives of those you love. However, this is the time for us to look to God, to place our hope in Him, and to trust He is still in control. God’s purpose for us on this earth is to prepare us for eternity and to share the gospel with a lost and dying world. This life is preparation for the next. We are in the warm up act right now! Remember what Paul said…“These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all of our troubles seem like nothing.” 2 Cor 4:17 (CEV)

Today’s problems may seem to be a heavy burden but they are nothing when we get to heaven. Hang on to that hope! When you feel weary and overwhelmed, God is preparing you for eternity with Him forever! For now, let's run our race and complete the work that God has set before us. And determine that we will praise our way through this challenge knowing that victory is on the other side.

I want to thank you for supporting DOZ during this challenging time. Because of you we have been able to feed our kids and hundreds of families in Honduras. We have been able to do what Jesus told us to do, ‘care for the widows and orphans in their time of need!’ I am so grateful and humbled by your generosity! I pray that God will bless you abundantly above all that I can ask or think.
Love you,
Charlotte

Testimony by DOZ Board Member:

When I think of what it means to be a part of the Daughters of Zion my heart feels so full. DOZ has allowed me to be a blessing and provided me with many opportunities to ‘go into all the world and preach the gospel’ and share the love of Jesus here in the states and other countries. Many years ago, God placed a great desire in my heart for the poor and needy. I wanted to  go help them in their homelands. I wanted God to use me to encourage, lift up, give hope, and to share the love of Jesus wherever He needed me to go. I had no idea how God would carry out His plan until I became a part of DOZ. Because of DOZ, I have been blessed with opportunities to minister in New Mexico, Haiti and Honduras. I’ve dressed up like a clown, I’ve danced, I’ve sang, I’ve played games with children, I’ve prayed with people, I’ve led people to the Lord, I’ve helped feed people, I’ve helped build and support a kindergarten in the mountains of Honduras, and I’ve seen healings and miracles happen. I’ve made some strong friendships along the way and I am the one who has been most blessed by all of this.
