Honduras Mission Trip

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus,

What a glorious day this is as all  heaven rejoices because many souls have been added to the kingdom of God.   Women and children’s lives have been forever changed through the healing and delivering power of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Truly it is a day to rejoice.

Having just returned from Honduras, I have to tell you that I stand in awe at the mighty works that I saw the Lord perform.  These precious Honduran people have so little and live in such poverty yet their hearts are full of love and they are so open to the Word of God.  They are like dry little sponges, soaking up every drop as the Lord waters them with His Word.

My heart is so full as I reflect back over the three days that we were there.  As I watched, early in the morning, Dr. John  Cayce and Mark Wiggins preparing for many long hours of dental work in a make shift office and yet giving them the best dental care that they had to give them.  Then to watch Dawn, Lu Ann and Pat (a new recruit) adorn their clown costumes and makeup, preparing for the long tiring day that would give them the opportunity to present Jesus to the children.  Never complaining, but counting it all joy to be able to go out and stand for hours in the heat, doing skits, blowing up balloons, passing out tracts and candy and then telling them about Jesus.  As a result of their labors of love, we saw many children give their hearts to Jesus.  And truly Heaven rejoiced.

On Saturday night we saw around 200 hundred women come for a Ladies Conference.   As most of them do not drive, they came in old church buses, in a taxi or walking from all over the city.  It was very humbling to see them do whatever they had to do just to get there. Most of these precious women come from homes where they are abused and treated very badly.  They are so beaten down, mentally and physically and they have no self worth. They feel so unworthy and unloved that when you tell them how much Jesus loves them and how very special they are to Him, it is life changing.  Lives were forever changed that night as we saw 20 women give their hearts to Jesus and as we prayed healing and deliverance for more than 100 women. And truly Heaven rejoiced.

Sunday we went to the orphanage in Siguatepeque that DOZ supports and they were so excited to see us.  What a tremendous blessing it was to see the little boys once again.  With as little as they have, they are so happy and so full of life.  It was so rewarding to know that soon they will have their water well finished, thanks to your generous giving, and that will make their lives so much better.  We took them into the city to Wendy’s for lunch and needless to say, they were thrilled.  That is a luxury that they rarely get to do.  Little Carlitos is doing great.  He is walking even though he has to drag one of his little legs.   He is also  beginning to talk.  One thing he has learned to say in English and Spanish is “I love you.”  I pray that soon they will be able to have his little eyes uncrossed and his eyesight will be better. Thank you for helping us to make their lives better.  And truly Heaven rejoiced.

It was a very rewarding trip and as I left, I asked the Lord, “When can I come back?”  I always leave a little part of my heart knowing that there is still so much left to do and little time to do it.  Thank you for giving to DOZ ministry so that we can go and please know that you went with us, with your faithful giving and prayers.  One day as you stand before the Lord you will receive crowns for the souls that were saved in Honduras.

During this Thanksgiving season I want you to know how thankful I am for you and to know how very much you are loved.  “We have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you.” Philemon 7

I love you,

Charlotte
